Have you ever wondered what WiFi stands for? (via  buzzfeed.com ) Well, short answer... it stands for NOTHING. Nothing, really! Disappointed? Don't be. Back in the 1999 people from the IEEE committee needed a catchy name for the what later became "WiFi" and they found it: WiFi. If you are writing a scientific paper using  the RevTex 4 LaTeX class (Phys. Rev. Lett., Phys. Review B, etc ),  occasionally you may have the need to make an equation to span over two columns instead than only one.  Well, ... how to do this? You can do that very easily using the environment widetext \begin{widetext}   your equation \end{widetext} This local modification of the layout from two-columns to one-column affect does not affect the preprint because this already uses the single column format. One of the mysteries of the human world is why people made the study of electromagnetism so complicated introducing, over the time, using several (!) units systems.
